A very special day for us today!
Our 24th Wedding Anniversary!
I cannot believe how time has gone by so quickly!
It feels like yesterday we said our "I Dos" in Vegas in 1995. Our wedding day was 36c and we had 13 people present to witness our vows. I wore a rose pink Jones New York tulip skirt and jacket. Kevin work dress pants, dress shirt, and a grey vest. It was just us and our 13 guests. We didn't do anything expensive or over the top, and it was just as special. The total cost of our wedding was $400, without the travel costs. I remember wondering if I would regret not having the big church wedding with the white dress, three bridesmaids, 400 guests, and a sit-down meal. To this date, I have never said to myself, I wish I would have had a big wedding. I have always been so grateful for doing what we did. To have such gratitude means this was the right thing to do! Anytime we have a rough patch in our marriage, I always think back to the exact time that the minister pronounced us, husband and wife, and those special words that Kevin whispered in my ear, "Smilie, I love you so much!" I will NEVER forget the emotions and love that penetrated to my heart and soul. 💖
Annually, Kevin and I have always celebrated our anniversary by going out for dinner somewhere. Always! This year, we have decided to continue on with our better eating habits and staying home. I did, however, cancel my clients over the dinner time period so we could eat our dinner together. Spending time together is a very important part of celebrating our special milestone.
