Day #7 - I've done it! 1 out of 52 completed! (Pat myself on the back!)
Sunday is Funday at the Denscombe household! For me, it is my favorite day of the week! I absolutely and love this day. No working, getting up with an alarm, and everything we do is for us. People who know me already understand that seldom do I make commitments on a Sunday with anyone else but Kevin and Reggie. Carving out time for these two amazing guys fills my heart and soul! Today was no exception!
Kevin and I have started attending fitness classes at Sweat Science Boxing and we just love it! We started off doing private personal training with the owner Dustin. We now have started doing the Hit-Fit Workout Classes.
What I love about going to this club is that they have such a welcoming community. They have encouraged Kevin and me every step of the way. From the day I had no clue that the punches had a name to today we are doing a combination, even though they are in slow motion. If you have not tried boxing, I would highly recommend you do! It is not just an arm workout. Your punch starts at your toes to your knees; to your hips; to your trunk; to your arms. It is a total body. As you can tell, I love it! I do not get any referral credits for promoting them. I truly believe in promoting small business in Calgary who does an amazing job! By the way, if you go online, you can sign up, you'll get one-week for free. It is a fun way to relieve stress!
It is now yard work time! After class, I must say, my arms and butt were killing me. That did not stop us. Perhaps last year, we would find an excuse not to do it. This year, we are committing to things we love to do and we both love yard work. After spending five hours digging in dry and hard dirt, we called it a day. We both said how much we were craving a beer and chips now. You see, this was an old habit that we always did on a Sunday afternoon. We would sit in our backyard and indulge in several beers and lots of potato chips and that would follow with a BBQ hamburger, several salads, and dessert. This time, we decided to have a discussion about how we want to celebrate our hard work. With the program we are following, there are two free days and we have now decided to keep our free days for the weekend to prevent deprivation. Perfect! We enjoy our backyard and it is part of our lives. This eating challenge is about getting healthy and living a better life, not about making each other unhappy. With this discussion, off to the beer store I went. We enjoyed our ONE beer and lime in the backyard followed by water with lemon. All was good!
See you on Day #8 / Week #2
